Waste to Energy (WTE)
In conjunction with our partners, New Centre Energy (NCE) which is an Oman based company, setup in 2010/11 to develop large scale niche Waste to Energy Plants, using licensed and patented technology developed by one of its majority shareholders.
Each Waste to Energy Plant has the capability to receive fresh unsegregated Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) upto 600 Ton/Day and process that material into a usable Refuse Derived Fuel; which is further processed into syngas using the Ultra High Temperature Hydrolysis (UHTH) process.
It is this syngas that is then used to powers (gas engines/micro gas turbines/steam) generators, which are specifically capable of running efficiently on syngas and which together with heat recovery systems, produce electricity (40MWhr). Some of the Plant output electricity is used to power the internal systems of the Plant; the rest is sold to the client’s local grid system.

A Build Own Operate (BOO) Project was signed off for initiation with a private investor in Jahor Bahru, Malaysia for immanent start (September 2023) delayed due to covid. Anticipated project agreements are expected in the Indian Ocean, East Africa and Asia with either private or government investment.
Every project to hand will benefit from the OMI/NCE commitment to “In Country Values”. It is anticipated that each plant will employ around 270 local people, source local goods and services as appropriate. Further OMI/NCE will seek to develop a “Centre of Excellence” in tandem with the WTE plant to offer training to our local employees and second staff from other countries to cross pollinate the knowledge bank within the group. Suitable young employees may be sponsored in graduate schemes.
